Boat rental: questions and answers
Are there life jackets on board?
Yes, every boat is equipped with all safety equipment required by law, including life jackets for adults and children (always check the availability of specific sizes for children when booking) and all fire-fighting and first aid equipment.
Are the boats insured?
Yes. All our vessels are covered by compulsory insurance, as required by current regulations. Insurance cover details are available and can be consulted, ensuring maximum transparency.
Will we receive a full briefing before setting sail?
Yes, absolutely. Before departure, a member of our staff will conduct a detailed pre-departure briefing on safety, technical operation of the boat, and local navigation rules to ensure safe and smooth sailing.
Is equipment available for water activities (snorkelling, SUP, etc.)?
For safety reasons and our insurance policies, we do not provide or allow the use of any aquatic or underwater activity equipment (such as snorkelling, SUP, kayaks, etc.) on board our boats during rentals or tours. Mandatory safety equipment, such as life jackets, is always present and available.
Can I bring food and drink on board?
For bareboat charters (without crew), you are free to organise your own catering. For many guided/private tours or skippered charters, we sometimes offer refreshment or lunch packages on board at an additional cost, but you are often allowed to bring your own. Always check the
specific conditions when booking.
Can I bring my dog or pet on board?
We accept small dogs (maximum 10 kg) on many of our boats. It is compulsory to indicate their presence when booking. Extra charge 15€.
Where is the meeting point? Are there parking spaces available?
The meeting point for boat hire and shared tours is at our Yacht Club “Nausika”, Via Montecchio Nord 21 - 23823 Colico (LC). Reservable parking spaces are available here at a cost of €15.
For private tours, the meeting point can be arranged as required.
What does the rental/tour price include?
The basic price usually includes the use of the boat and compulsory safety equipment. Additional costs, such as fuel, compulsory insurance, food and drink, and parking are excluded and specified separately. We advise you to check the product details carefully.
Do I need a licence to charter a boat?
The need for a boating licence depends mainly on the type of boat, its power and the distance from the coast to be covered.
- For smaller boats or those with limited engine power (AS 19GL OPEN) a driving licence is not required.
- For more powerful motor boats, such as the EDEN 22, the boating licence is always compulsory in physical form (no photos).
Is a security deposit required?
Yes, for most rentals a security deposit is required to cover any minor damage to the boat or equipment. The amount varies depending on the type and size of the chartered boat. This deposit is usually blocked on the customer's credit card before departure and fully refunded at the end of the charter, provided the boat is returned in the same condition in which it was taken over.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policies vary slightly depending on the type of rental and notice, but are always clearly stated during the booking process. Please read the specific terms carefully when booking.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept a wide range of payment methods for your convenience. Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) are included. All payments are handled through secure platforms to protect your sensitive data.

How can I book a boat or tour?

After filling in an online form with your details, you can proceed to the secure payment to confirm your booking. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with all the necessary details for your journey.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Safety is our top priority. In the event of adverse weather conditions that make sailing unsafe, the captain (if any) or our team will assess the options.

What is the minimum age for chartering a boat?
Generally, the minimum age for hire is 21 and the hirer must be in possession of all the necessary documents and licences.
What documents should I bring with me on the day of the rental/tour?
It is sufficient to present a valid identification document (ID card or passport) and, if required for the type of charter, the original boat licence. For private and shared tours, an ID card is sufficient for identification.
To speed up check-in, it is important to bring the contract, automatically generated at the time of booking, completed and signed.
